This policy applies to SocietyCart's customer app, shopkeeper interfaces and website insofar as relevant. It must be read with the Terms and Conditions and mandatory Indian law. If a provision conflicts with mandatory law, the law prevails.

1. Independent seller status

The shopkeeper sells in its own name, controls permitted prices and inventory and remains responsible for its staff, products and lawful operations. SocietyCart provides marketplace and optional logistics technology.

2. Onboarding

Seller must provide genuine identity, PAN, bank, tax and product-specific licensing details, including FSSAI where required, and promptly update changes.

3. Listings and orders

Seller must maintain accurate stock, price, weight, product descriptions, MRP and expiry information; accept or reject orders promptly and prepare safe, correctly packed goods.

4. Fees and settlements

Applicable commission, platform fees, deductions, payout schedule, refunds and chargeback rules must be specified in the signed commercial schedule; SocietyCart may not impose undisclosed charges.

5. Taxes and records

Seller bears its own applicable tax registration and filings; SocietyCart performs mandatory platform GST TCS, income-tax TDS and other duties where applicable.

6. Staff and access

Seller owners control employee permissions and remain responsible for authorized staff conduct. SocietyCart may audit security logs and suspend risky access.

7. Suspension and exit

Fraud, unsafe products, repeated material breaches or invalid licences may justify proportionate suspension. Outstanding lawful settlements and disputes survive termination.
